I grew up in Drayton & Ariss (Wellington County) and studied System Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 2017. In 2021, my wife & I purchased our first home in Elmira. We immediately connected with the community and never wanted to leave. A dog and several kids later we cannot imagine living anywhere else. Elmira has truly become our home!

 

As a system design engineer I brings a unique set of skills to the council table. My education and work has given me an ability to look at a complex system and optimize it, not just for efficiency, but for the people who use it. My heart is to design systems that enable people to thrive & perform at their best. I currently work as a Senior Technical Analyst at Definity Insurance in Waterloo. My day to day involves maintaining IT infrastructure, working on technology projects, presenting data and helping people use technology systems more effectively. My work has given me experience with large budgets, solving complex business problems, and providing solutions that work for all stakeholders.

 

I am running for council because I want to lend my skills and leadership to help grow Elmira & Woolwich Township. We love the parks, the friendly community, local shops and the small town atmosphere. As your councillor I want to preserve those things and work on the things in Woolwich that could use improvement. We need to focus on solving the immediate problems that the municipality faces year after year - and then start building a visionary plan for the future. Finally, I hope that I can encourage and draw other people in to care about municipal politics. There are many decisions made at the municipal level that people are unaware of. And I want everyone, mainly those my age or younger, to start caring and bringing their voices to our township.
