Here are two methods of voting in the 2026 Municipal Election:internet voting; andpaper ballots cast in-person at specific voting locations on Election Day.Internet voting will open on October 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. on October 26. Paper ballot voting will available on the following dates and times:Saturday, October 17, at the Woolwich Memorial Centre and the Breslau Community Centre 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Sunday October 18, at the Woolwich Memorial Centre and the St. Jacobs Fire Hall from  from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Monday, October 26, at the Woolwich Memorial Centre, Breslau Community Centre and St. Jacobs Fire Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.Eligible Voters can vote anywhere in Woolwich! You do not need to vote in the Ward you live in.

How do I know if I'm eligible to vote?

You are able to vote in the 2026 Municipal Election if you:are a Canadian citizen,are at least 18 years old,live in Woolwich Township, or are the owner or tenant of land in Woolwich, or the spouse of such a person, andare not otherwise prohibited from voting.

You can check, update or add yourself to the voters list online until August 12, 2026.After August 21, 2026, you must apply to the Township Clerk if you wish to add your name to the Voters' List or correct your information. This can be done by:Contacting our Corporate Services department at 519-669-6000 during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Email us and include your full name and address, and we will check if you are on the listYou can wait to see if you get a voter notice letter by October 9Attend one of our Help Centers, which are offering after-hours optionsThe deadline to apply for changes is October 26, 2026 at 8:00 p.m., when voting closes.

The number of councillors you vote for depends on what ward you live in. For more information on Ward boundaries see the Woolwich Township website. Ward 1 & 3 votes for 2 councillorsWard 2 votes for 1 councillorSo if you live in Ward 1 or 3 you will have the option of casting your vote for 0, 1, or 2 candidates to be elected as councillors.

How do I vote for mayor or other positions?

Based on what Ward you reside you, you will receive a ballet with all the positions applicable to your address. You will then be able to cast your vote for the candidate(s) you choose for those positions. Typically you will vote for Mayor, Ward Councillor(s) and School Board Trustee(s)
